The first issue of Blackbright News was published in 2005. Since then 58 issues have been published via www.issuu.com/blackbrightnews, and only a few have been printed in hard copy.

I am also a radio DJ/presenter who broadcasts on a Friday afternoon on www.loversrockradio.com 7pm-9pm (GMT), which is a reggae programme, where I give my point of view on the tracks I play, occasionally. and sometimes what is in the media.

I am a poet, an author of Poetry's Promise, Poetry's Teacher, the Other Side of Tourism and the Spirit of Queens. I am a visual artist, a Skype Therapist, and I work full time in the health industry.

HOW MUCH LONGER WILL THE HOME OFFICE KEEP PAYING OUT FOR THEIR MISTAKES?!

The Home Office/Government has paid out £4m during 2014-2015, and approximately £4m - £5m in each preceding 3 years according to Freedom of Information requested by Victoria Derbyshire Programme.

The Home Office settled out of court the sum of £25k payable to a victim who was wrongfully detained and threatened with deportation, because immigration claimed he posed a serious and current threat, despite being placed on the National Referral Mechanism register as being a genuine victim of human trafficking.

The Home Office has been accused of covering up the plight of hundreds of modern slavery victims after it was forced to disclose data it previously claimed to have “no record” of. Figures obtained through a freedom of information (FoI) request revealed 507 people who had been enslaved or trafficked were detained under immigration powers in 2018, despite Home Office guidance that this group should not be placed in detention.

£80k was paid out to a Somali Asylum Seeker and £38k was paid out to a Palestinian female who was detained for a year, and pay outs for wrong detention is ongoing,

Owen Clarke and Oney British of the British Link Up Crew, Dewayne Robinson, Alphonso Harriott, Paul Mitchell, Hugh Bennett, are victims who have been definitively established, according to the Guardian.

I erroneously said that the Guardian 'went out there' but I meant to counteract that statement with "the majority of murders the Guardian have identified involving people deported from the UK to Jamaica have occurred in the past 3-4 months.

THE DEPORTATION OF 50 JAMAICANS HAS BEEN BROUGHT FORWARD TO 11 FEBRUARY 2020

ALL ROADS LEAD TO 10 DOWNING STREET ON THURSDAY 6 FEB AT 6PM

Lee Jasper and Artist & Poet Zita Holbourne, are calling for the BAME community to attend 10 Downing Street Whitehall SW1 1AA to stop the deportation flight to Jamaica.

The yellow flyer states that the deportation is taking place on 11 February - I didn't notice that before I did the video - so apologies!

Under 'Blackbright News', which is the name of my magazine (see below), I consider myself an interpreter or translator of complex information. I uncomplicate what is complicated to the average person and share information so that anyone with concerns about immigration, deportation or detention, will have a rough idea what to expect, and how certain laws may affect them.

I realised when it was brought to public attention that over 60 Jamaicans were deported in February 2019; when a desperate wife paid £22,000 to a lawyer to prevent her husband's deportation (and he still got deported), and how family members of the Windrush Generation are still in limbo, how little, so many, knew about their stay and their rights in the UK and I decided to step in, using a user-friendly formula, that I felt could be easily understood.

Why does the UK Government deport Jamaicans, when the Home Secretary can remove from the UK?

6 MONTHS OF TIGHTENED COVID RELATED RESTRICTIONS IN THE UK!

I question topics that have been highlighted in the media, particularly if they impact black people. I would like to think that my comments have marginal validity, but I am not offering professional advice - I leave that to the experts!!

Whatever I talk on, needs to be researched, so don't take my word for it - I like to talk about things that are happening or have happened (but which may still have relevance in the current climate), with a view to looking at both sides of a particular story - so not all 'news' is 'new' news, but if I have provided food for thought, I consider it a job well done!

I tend to speak on topics and share viewpoints from a black-centred perspective, accepting that many will not share my point of view, regardless of race.

I was babbling a bit in this video, but where I mentioned about the man being a British citizen and being able to register his child as a British citizen, I omitted to mention that this was in the case where his unmarried partner and mother of his child, was a foreign national, because if they were both British citizens, or if he married the foreign mother, he/they could simply apply for a British passport,

If you are claiming universal credit, be careful that you do not inadvertently tick the box on the ESA50 form to give permission to see your medical records if they need to.

DWP will probably send your GP a ESA113 questionnaire, if you have given permission.

Remember... There is no legal requirement for a claimant to give consent for DWP to seek information from GPs and other parties. Claimants are free to withhold their consent and if they do, If consent is withheld DWP still has the legal right to arrange for a medical examination by an Examining Medical Practitioner using the Department’s contract for medical services with ATOS under section 19 of the Social Security Act 1998, however, by withholding consent, you could delay your application.
