Black British History - Martin Hoyles Interview About Robert Wedderburn

I was excited to talk with Martin Hoyles about Robert Wedderburn, the Political Activist from the 1800s of Jamaican/Scottish heritage. The reason for this excitement is that Martin's book, (The Axe Laid to the Root/The Story fo Robert Wedderburn), was the first text that introduced me into Black British History of the 1800s.

This convinced me of the need to produce this into a Dance Theatre Production in Stroud.
As I researched this era in England I found that some of the available text on Black History was limited to academic writing. It is my hope that the words from Robert Wedderburn's book will now be translated into movement. Giving alternative ways to learn about Black British History.
