He is also an avid collector of material that provides invaluable insights into Britain’s African and Caribbean communities.

In this film, Vanley discusses objects from his vast archive that featured in Firstsite’s 2019 exhibitions ‘Elsa James: Black Girl Essex’ and ‘Super Black’, revealing their significance to Britain’s Caribbean communities.
