In this very special episode, the ladies discuss the current Body Positivity movement – a socio-political movement rooted in the fat acceptance movement of the 60s that is centred on radical self-love in the face of narrow beauty ideals, anti-fat discrimination and fat-shaming. They explore whether the movement has been commercialised by brands and public figures for their own gain, the difference between body positivity and obesity, whether the health concerns used to criticise the movement are genuine, why society seems to be so offended by fat bodies – especially when they’re Black – and how we can combat online trolls and become true allies to the movement.

00:00 Intro
02:20 Has the Body Positivity movement been co-opted by thin bodies and why is an “all sizes matter” approach problematic?
20:57 Is there a line between Body Positivity and obesity and who decides what size is “acceptable”?
40:14 Why is society so offended by fat Black bodies and how can we be allies to the Body Positivity movement?
